Fragile Shard 9. Clocks.
In the realm of wonder, a man unveils an hourglass concealed within his sleeve, but instead of sand, it holds a flurry of snow, resembling enchanting Christmas balls, glowing in various hues. The frosty patterns dance in the air while the blizzard swirls around him. The hourglass, too, appears snow-covered, and despite the constant shaking and turning, it serves no purpose, for the clocks within are frozen in time.
Lost in thoughts, he contemplates going somewhere, uncertain of his companions — perhaps a lover, but uncertain about the reasons to embark on such a journey. Alone, he muses, the chilly tiles of solitude might be preferable, accompanied by warm comforts like tea and the embrace of a cozy plaid.
“I crave money and desire,” the intellectuals proclaim with bold certainty from their minds, while the romantics whisper, “Love and warmth” from the depths of their hearts. Who truly knows? It’s all a mix of nonsense, but does it matter? What matters most is the snow and the magic it brings.
As the final grains of snowfall in the hourglass, the man tucks it away once more, disappearing to destinations unknown, guided by the whims of his gaze.
